The U.S. Border Control has discovered 33 large cans on the desert floor north of the Mexican border.  The cans, filled with pot, were fired from cannons south of the border.  Yes, cannons.

Authorities caught wind of the new technique when they received reports of some strange canisters popping up near the Colorado River in southern Arizona recently. Agents arrived at the scene to find the cans which collectively held 85 pounds of marijuana. That’s worth $42,500 on the street. By the looks of it, the smugglers had loaded the cans into a pneumatic-powered cannon (think: potato gun) and blasted them 500 yards over the border.

On the very same day:

United States officials confirm that North Korea appears to have carried out the successful launch of a long-range rocket….It is believed to have the capacity to travel a minimum of 3,400 miles.

It’s about 3,000 miles from Michoacán, Mexico, to Seattle, where pot is now legal.

Now I understand what our son was trying to tell me when he said drug smugglers were using t-shirt cannons to get drugs over the border. I’d never heard of a “t-shirt cannon,” which he says supposedly launches t-shirts into the audience at sporting events and concerts.

The Japanese sent bombs carried by balloons over the Pacific during WWII. Only one worked …
